Whoever checks eligibility for a subsidy collects a lot of different records: salary statements, notices from the job centre, proof of rent, insurance certificates. Which of them a family actually needs depends on their situation. The upload page, however, used to show every document you collect at all - twenty and more for some operators. Families had to work out for themselves what applied to them.
With requesting per booking the office decides which documents a family is shown. The upload page then offers exactly those.
Select and send
On the booking details page you open Request documents from the email menu. You see a list of all documents with checkboxes: mandatory ones are preselected, and documents that were already delivered or requested are marked. Next to it the email is shown for preview, just like for your other messages.
After your confirmation the family receives an email listing the requested documents - so they know what it is about while reading, without opening the link. The upload link stays valid and documents can be handed in later at any time.
Ask for more, or take it back
If a record turns out to be missing later, you simply request it as well: the new request is added to the existing ones, while documents already handled stay as they are. If you requested something by mistake, you can take it back in the document panel of the booking as long as nothing has been uploaded.
The follow-up list gets more precise
With requesting enabled, the list of missing booking documents counts only what you actually asked for. Bookings nobody has requested anything from no longer clutter your list.
How to switch it on
So nothing changes without your consent, requesting is an option: you find it in your account settings under Booking system in the Documents tab. Without it every document is offered for upload as before. Which documents exist at all is still configured under Administration > Requirements.
